Turtle Time

I stopped the car not far from our driveway to photograph this guy (or girl...I really didn't check to see what gender) and to help him across the road.

I've read that the leading cause of death for turtles is being run over while crossing the roadways!  I also read that these turtles are easily stressed.  I'd be stressed too if I knew at any moment a vehicle could run me over!

Pop and I have seen an increasing number of box turtles in recent days.  He says they are training for the Annual Four Sisters Farm Family Fourth of July Turtle Race!
