Okay, the cowboys are growing up before our very eyes. They are crossing over into "kids" and not babies anymore. Yikes! Although, my Wubba is still not 2 yet. Anyway, I am finding parenting more challenging. Imagine that?!?!
EJ and I have one book we are planning to read:
Bringing up Boys by James Dobson
Any other suggestions? Hook us up with some resources.
Thanks!
Okay - I could not have survived parenthood thus far if it weren't for this book:
ReplyDeleteBoundaries with Kids by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend.
You can see it here: http://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/product?item_no=45775&netp_id=355811&event=ESRCN&item_code=WW&view=covers
Seriously - I still re-read it every year - and my kids are 12, 15, and 16 now. If only we'd found it earlier!
Bringing up Boys is awesome, by the way! :)
Dina, you rock! Thanks so much for the recommendation. We will get our hands on a copy soon. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I would love to read Bringing Up Boys.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I have agonized this last year about how difficult he is, it is really starting to bother me that Connor is getting so big too.
Chad made me read "Wild at Heart" by John Eldredge when we learned we were having a boy. It's not so much a how-to as it is a study on how men/boys are wired. Very readable.
ReplyDeleteMonica, I'll loan you bringing up boys after we get thru it.
ReplyDeleteI love "Making the Terrible Twos Terrific" by John Rosemond. Probably I should look into the one Dina recommended...
ReplyDeleteI just got a whole list from my women's bible study:
ReplyDeleteSeveral by Dobson
Boudaries is on there
Parenting with Love & Logic
How to Really Love your Child
Raising an Emotionally Intelligent Child
Several others...I'll see if I can scan the list and send it to ya!
