That's Handy

I am in the middle of making meatloaf when I realize I'm out of eggs. Stinkin! I live a long way from the store.

Then I realize...I have chickens.

I'll be right back.

  1. PLUS - your eggs are WAYYYYYY better than the ones at the store! If you ever have extra and want to sell some, let me know. Don and I love fresh eggs.

  3. LOL! That's hilarious! Been there, done that!

Erin - yes - I do just go out and check the nest boxes - usually I come back with one or two fresly laid (and still warm) eggs. Technically, a good layer will lay once every 25 or 26 hours. I have a flock of 30 chickens, so - when everyone is mature and laying, we should have quite a few eggs! :)

  4. Dina - I love it! Thanks for sharing the chicken info.

We have a flock of new ones that still aren't producing. We are looking forward to having more eggs. We get so few right now!
